About
MISSION
Our mission is to provide a reliable, open forum for our diverse community of students, faculty and families, and to appropriately present pertinent and newsworthy material to our readership.
STATESMAN POLICY
Statesman is first and foremost a newspaper for the Stevenson community. The primary goal is to deliver the news and provide content deemed to be newsworthy, timely and ethical with regard to the community. Statesman will produce no fewer than six print issues per school year. All content in each issue of Statesman will be included at the discretion of the staff. Statesman will only print content appropriate for the high school readership and conforms to high standards of journalistic integrity and ethical awareness for its readership. Statesman will only use anonymous sources if the anonymity of a source can be guaranteed and if stories, when published, could lead to physical, mental or emotional harassment of a source. Statesman reserves the right not to give the names of anonymous sources in order to ensure the safety of such individuals. Ad content is subject to the discretion of the editorial board and will only contain information that is appropriate. The opinions expressed in Statesman do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the administration, school board, faculty, student body or community members; the staff policy itself is subject to change at the staff’s discretion. To contact Statesman, e-mail us at [email protected] or visit room 2712.
STATESMAN WEBSITE
In Statesman’s efforts to provide the most timely content to the community, Statesman has created a website for its readers to access article 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Statesman’s website will continue to maintain the same quality of writing within its print issues, but extra photos, quizzes and articles can be found on the website. Please note that the opinions found on the website do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the administration, school board, faculty, student body or community members.
